from Munich about 2 hours

from Salzburg about 1 hour:

Tauernautobahn A 8 going south to Bischofshofen, Exit Gasteinertal, Richtung Süden bis Bischofshofen, Ausfahrt Gasteinertal, road 167 to Gasteinertal.

From Innsbruck about 2 hours:
motorway via Wörgl, road 312 via St.Johann/Tirol to Lofer, road 311 via  Zell am See to Lend, road 167 to Gastein or motorway - Kufstein - Salzburg - Villach, exit Gasteinertal, road 167 to Gasteinertal.

Coming from South  drive via Villach, Möllbrücke and Obervellach to Mallnitz and get to Gastein comfortably by car train.

Euro-City,Intercity and express trains stop at Bad Hofgastein and Bad Gastein, not all trains stop in Dorfgastein. There are regular service by taxi and busses to all places. The closest motorail station is Bischofshofen. A delivery service manages the transfer of luggagge

Gastein Alpenstraße
The scenic road is about 7 km long and passes several galleries and tunnels from Böckstein (Nassfeld) on 1600 height to Sportgastein

A valid skipass already includes the toll for active Alpine winter sportspeople. The toll for cross-country skiers who take the skibus is paid by the tourism offices for using eco-friendly means of transport. Cross country skiers do not have to pay at the toll station.
